Holly Willoughby pays emotional tribute to This Morning’s Dr Uchenna Okoye after her sudden death
HOLLY Willoughby has paid tribute to This Morning star Dr Uchenna Okoye following her shock death.
The TV presenter took to Instagram tonight after the tragic news Dr Okoye had died aged 53 after a “sudden illness”.
Holly, 42, shared with her fans: “Unbelievably sad to hear of the passing of @druchennaokoye.
“We first worked together many moons ago with @oralb_uk and she was very kind to me… and then of course again, giving her advice on @thismorning Sending all my love to her family.”
TV dentist Dr Okoye was a much loved contributor on This Morning and was also known for her TV work on shows like 10 Ways To Lose 10 Years, and Morning Live.
Dr Okoye passed away on Friday.
In an Instagram post, her family said: “We are heartbroken to announce that Dr Uchenna Okoye sadly passed away after a sudden illness on Friday 15th September 2023.
“We know many of you will be devastated and shocked to see this post.
“We ask for your prayers and some privacy at this difficult time. We will be in touch in the coming days.”
Dr Okoye qualified at Guy’s Hospital in London and was a specialist in cosmetic dentistry.
She was one of the few elite dentists to be a member of both the American and British Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry.
The expert was also an honorary clinician at St George’s Hospital in London and sat on the board of the British Association of Cosmetic Dentistry.
She is survived by one daughter and her husband Chidi Ngwaba who is also a doctor.
He specialises in lifestyle medicine including reversing illnesses such as type-2 diabetes, hypertension, autoimmune diseases and obesity.
He is an international speaker on health and wellness.
Dr Ngwaba has appeared on television including BBC One’s Food: Truth or Scare, ITV‘s Good Morning Britain, and Sky News.
