Huge blow for pensioners as Trott refuses to guarantee triple lock next year

Pensions Minister Laura Trott refused to guarantee the government will honour the triple lock in full next year. The government is considering changing the formula to calculate April's increase to reduce it from 8.5 per cent to 7.8 per cent.
