'No clear reason': Trump's ex-aide baffled by new attack on 'popular Republican Senator'
Donald Trump on Thursday lashed out at a well-liked Republican senator for seemingly no reason, according to his former aide.
Trump has had harsh words for Louisiana GOP senator Bill Cassidy in the past, but it's not clear why the former president chose today to once again lash out at who he calls "Wacky Bill Cassidy."
Identifying Cassidy as "the incompetent Senator from the great State of Louisiana," Trump claimed the senator "wants to pour vast amounts of money into South American countries in the hope that their economies will become strong and vibrant, and people will stop coming to the U.S."
POLL: Should Trump be allowed to run for office?
"I’d much rather spend the Trillions of Dollars necessary, most of which will be stolen by the 'dictators,' inside the U.S., with a strong Border, like under the Trump Administration, to protect us," he added. "Tell this dope of a Senator about a 'little thing' called AMERICA FIRST!!!Cassidy is BAD NEWS. The great people of Louisiana would love to have a “do over” of his Election. Cassidy is totally unelectable!"
Former Donald Trump aide Alyssa Farah Griffin noticed the post, and wrote this:
"When he’s not busy sharing our nation’s most sensitive national security secrets, Trump is busy going after a popular Republican Senator for no clear reason.
Conservative attorney and Trump critic George Conway chimed in on that.
"Oh, Alyssa, I think the reason is unmistakably clear," Conway wrote, including an image showing Cassidy voting in favor of Trump's impeachment.
