Hitler-quoting former school board member arrested for brandishing gun at her tenant
A former school board member in Colorado Springs has been arrested following an altercation with a tenant involving a handgun, reported Law & Crime.
According to the tenant, identified in records as "Andrew," he had been renting a room from 66-year-old Ivy Liu, and amid Andrew moving out and arguing with Liu over $100 she insisted he still owed her, he returned to the property to collect his things, only for Liu to return home, screaming his name, and pointing a loaded handgun at him from the bottom of the stairs. She refused to allow him to collect his possessions until police arrived.
Liu gave a different account, telling police that Andrew was drunk, refused to leave the premises, and that the gun had been stored safely in her purse. Police said they did smell alcohol on Andrew but that he did not seem intoxicated.

Liu generated controversy in 2022, when, as a member of Colorado's Falcon 49 School District Board, she made a Facebook post quoting Nazi dictator Adolf Hitler.
"He alone, who owns the youth, gains the future," said the quote attributable to Hitler. Liu continued in the post, “PARENTS!! GET INVOLVED AND FIGHT LIKE YOUR CHILDREN’S LIVES DEPEND ON IT, BECAUSE IT DOES!, Fight back the Critical Race Theory (CRT) concepts that are deceptively hidden in many of the latest Social Emotional Learning (SEL) programs from CASEL.org. Not all SEL’s are bad but some are insidiously programmed to do just what our enemies intend.”
Liu "appears to have stopped serving" after that story broke, Law & Crime noted.
