Indian wrestler Bajrang Punia suffered a heavy defeat in the semifinals of the Asian Games, but still has a chance to win a bronze medal. Punia, who faced criticism for skipping the selection trials, won his first two matches easily before being outclassed by Iranian opponent Rahman Amouzadkhalili. Meanwhile, fellow Indian wrestler Aman Sehrawat also lost in the semifinals but showed promise with his performance. In the women's competition, Sonam Malik and Kiran also lost in the semifinals, while Radhika failed to reach the medal round.
