The Nobel Peace Prize has been awarded to Narges Mohammadi for fighting the oppression of women in Iran. The chair of the Norwegian Nobel Committee announced the prize Friday in Oslo. The Nobel Prizes carry a cash award of 11 million Swedish kronor. Winners also receive an 18-carat gold medal and diploma at the award ceremonies in December.
