Justin Fields Dedicates Bears Win In A Memorable Fashion
On Thursday, the Chicago Bears secured a much-needed victory, defeating the Washington Commanders with a lop-sided score of 40-20. Justin Fields continued to shine, throwing for a total of 8 touchdowns in his last two games and accumulating an impressive 699 yards in total offense. However, what made this win even more special was how Fields chose to celebrate and dedicate it to the legendary Chicago Bears linebacker, Dick Butkus, who has passed away.
“He’s a Bears legend. That’s what makes tonight so special. This win is for him.”
Justin Fields revealed that neither he nor his teammates were aware of Butkus’s passing until it was announced on the video board at FedEx Field on Thursday. The Bears certainly made number 51 proud tonight and it will be intriguing to see if this moment could potentially mark a turning point in both the Bears season and Justin Fields career.
