NBA star Joel Embiid has chosen to represent the United States over France in the 2024 Paris Olympics. Embiid, who became a US citizen last year, cited his son being American as one of the reasons for his decision. The Philadelphia 76ers player met with USA Basketball managing director Grant Hill to inform him of his choice. The final roster for the US team will be announced in spring 2024. Embiid joins a list of NBA players planning to play for the US, including Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant, and LeBron James.
