Bears Game Showed how Stupid NFL Can Still Be
I’m still trying to figure out exactly when DJ Moore stepped out of bounds after his catch near the end of the third quarter against the Washington Commanders Thursday night. Luckily, it turns out that the Bears don’t actually have the worst offensive line in the league, as they were able to hold off a second-half comeback attempt from the Commanders. But still, how the hell is it 2023 and the NFL can’t show us one single angle down the sideline?
The Bears were up 27-14 and we were all getting the sick feeling in our stomachs of impending doom. That’s what happens when you haven’t seen a win in nearly a calendar year. Anyway, Justin Fields hit Moore on a 2nd and 10 pass, as the duo once again beat rookie cornerback Emmanuel Forbes. Moore broke away down the sideline and then it appeared as though he was able to evade Darrick Forrest’s diving attempt to shove the Bears’ receiver out of bounds.
Apparently Moore did step on the white line because the refs ruled him out at Washington’s 31-yard line. You had no idea if he actually did or not watching on Amazon Prime because this was the only replay fans saw after the play.
That was it. It’s a day later and these are the only close up images and it comes from social media.
A couple zoomed in screenshots and that’s it. Still nothing clear.
Amazon and the NFL are worth billions and billions of dollars and we still can’t get good camera angles in 2023? How is this still happening? What the hell is going on? Seems kinda stupid to me that the NFL can’t have more angles available on what might have been a very important play.
After that play the Bears were stopped and had to settle for a field goal that put them up 30-14, still a two-possession game, when it could have been a 34-14 game. Whatever, lucky for Bears fans, DJ Moore is incredible and he had the best game of his career, putting up 230 yards on 8 catches with 3 touchdowns.
Moore’s last two games are jaw-dropping against Miami and Washington: 16 catches, 361 yards, 4 touchdowns.
There are literally some young fans who have never seen any Bears receiver be this good in their life.
All-around, what an awesome game for the Bears. Now, someone tell me how much more shit I have to buy from Amazon to get a few more cameras on the field.
UPDATE
There’s this angle, which is a lot better.
Someone posted that on Reddit, but there’s no chance that was shown on Amazon. My point stands. Give us all the replays and then we won’t complain.
