Salary Projections for Mets’ 16 Arbitration Eligible Players

MLB Trade Rumors released their 2024 arbitration salary projections on Friday afternoon. The New York Mets will have 16 arbitration-eligible players this offseason, which ties them for the second most in Major League Baseball.

Here are the 16 Mets projections:

• 1B Pete Alonso $22 million
• DH Daniel Vogelbach $2.6 million
• RHP Drew Smith $2.2 million
• LHP David Peterson $2.0 million
• RHP Trevor Gott $2.0 million
• LHP Joey Lucchesi $2.0 million
• INF Luis Guillorme $1.7 million
• RHP Elieser Hernández $1.6 million
• OF Tim Locastro $1.6 million
• OF DJ Stewart $1.5 million
• Of Rafael Ortega $1.4 million
• RHP Jeff Brigham $1.1 million
• UT Danny Mendick $1.1 million
• RHP John Curtiss $1.0 million
• RHP Sam Coonrod $900,000
• C Michael Pérez $800,000

Alonso is the biggest one of the group, and deservedly so, in his final year before he becomes a free agent following the 2024 season. Lefties Peterson and Lucchesi give the Mets inexpensive rotation depth, but after that, there are primarily non-tender candidates in the pitching department.

Vogelbach finished the 2023 season strong, though his limited skillset and price tag of a little over $1 million more than Stewart could make him a non-tender candidate. Ortega and Locastro feel like slam dunk non-tender candidates.

All in all, a significant portion of this group of 16 could end up being non-tendered before the deadline on November 17.
