I hate my mother-in-law – she ruined my wedding vows & stole my song, people say I shouldn’t have married my husband
A FURIOUS bride has shared how her mother-in-law turned her dream wedding day into a nightmare.
Stasia was so excited to celebrate her big day with the whole family, but she claims it just gave her more reasons to hate her husband’s mum.
Sharing her story online, she wrote: “Reason number infinity why I hate my MIL.”
Stasia shared a clip of her wedding day, featuring a gorgeous tiered cake covered in autumnal flowers.
She’s seen in a beautiful white wedding gown with balloon sleeves, cutting the cake with her happy husband beside her.
It looks like the perfect scene, but Stasia’s face tells a different story.
She says: “After interrupting our vows, she wouldn’t shut up or pay attention to cake cutting.”
The video shows Stasia’s face change from happy to frustrated as she looks beyond the camera – presumably at her mother-in-law causing a ruckus.
“I am clearly so annoyed and can’t stop being distracted by her blatant obnoxiousness,” she says.
Stasia is then seen with a stern look on her face, giving her mother-in-law daggers across the room.
A romantic song plays in the background as the couple cut the first slice of cake, but Stasia looks totally unimpressed.
“The DJ also didn’t play the song I picked out,” she says. “I wonder who did that.”
Despite the angst of her mother-in-law’s behaviour, Stasia tried her best to have a good day and make memories with her new husband.
Over 700,000 people have liked the video on TikTok and some have shared very harsh advice with the scorned bride – they say she shouldn’t have tied the knot at all.
One user replied: “I wouldn’t have married him.”
A second agreed: “A mother-in-law is only powerful because the son is weak. He can change that.”
A third commented: “My mother-in-law died almost three years ago. 20 years I dealt with her. Welcome to the beginning of your nightmare.”
And a fourth said: “I couldn’t marry him and put up with her for the rest of my life…no way.”
Other viewers saw the video as a warning to brides-to-be, telling them that Stasia’s new family member was a ‘red flag’.
With the wedding over, women have flocked to the comments to share more helpful advice for the future.
Selina Marie wrote: “I hope your husband defends you always. Going ‘no contact’ will be her prize soon enough.”
And another user named Dino nuggs said: “This is why my future mother-in-law will know about the wedding a week in advance so she can’t step in on anything.
“If she can’t come, oh well.”
