I have beef with plus-size pants – I’m an unapologetic fat girl and they’re all failing me in the same way
A PLUS-SIZE fashionista has vented her frustrations after struggling to find pants that fit her waist properly.
She sparked a discussion after claiming that she’s had the same problem regardless of which brand she buys from.
Abby Bible (@theabbybible) boasts over 193,000 followers on TikTok, where she describes herself as an “unapologetic fat gal and fashion lover.”
She took to the social media platform to complain about poorly positioned belt loops after her belt failed to keep her pants which were bought from Eloquii in place.
She said: “I have beef with plus-size pants.
“I need more belt loops because the difference between here and here on a size four is completely different from how they are on me.”
Abby pulled two belt loops on the side of her pants to show the amount of space between them.
She then pulled at the waist of the pants to show that they were slightly too big before putting on a belt.
She said: “These pants are too big so naturally a person would put on a belt to cinch in their waist and keep their pants up.
“Well hmm hmm, not on me. See the belt loops up here while the pants are down here so we will put that under and I’ll do a little jig.”
Abby showed that the belt stayed in place around her waist while her pants moved down when she ran on the spot.
She said: “The jeans have moved down there while the belt has stayed up here.
“In the back, the jeans are coming out from underneath the belt.
“I need more belt loops, please. Thank you.”
Abby looked visibly frustrated by the problem with her pants and was curious to know if anyone else was having the same issue.
She captioned the post: “There’s no way this is just a me problem, right?”
She included the hashtags #outfitfail, #wardrobemalfunction, and plussizefashion.
The fashionista added: “May be a universal issue, but plus-size clothing is notoriously overlooked and disregarded.
“That MUST be acknowledged before the industry can move forward.”
The post went viral with over 164,000 likes and a flood of comments from people who’ve also struggled to get the waist of their pants to fit properly.
One person wrote: “Wait is that why, I always thought I was getting the wrong sizes and just stopped using belts.”
Another commented: “I always have issues with the back of my jeans when I wear a belt. Every. Single. Time.”
A third chimed in: “I have been saying this for years.”
Another said: “YES I end up wrapping a hair tie around the button and then through the belt to make an extra loop. I don’t know if that makes sense but it’s bs!”
