Award-winning superhero movie returning for epic reboot 14 years after original ‘changed the game’
AN award-winning superhero film is set to return to screens for an incredible reboot 14 years after the original took the world by storm.
The film starred Aaron Taylor-Johnson as the main character.
Kick Ass follows normal teenager Dave Lizewski (Aaron Johnson), who plans to use his fascination with comic books to become a real-life superhero.
Matthew Vaughn, the director, announced that he is currently developing an upcoming reboot.
It’s been 14 years since the original films landed on our screens.
“Kick-Ass sort of changed people’s perception of what a superhero film is at that time. So we’ll be doing it again,” he told Hollywood Reporter.
The director went on to say that the reboot will have a whole different set of characters than the first two films.
Vaughn said: “So it’s none of the characters from the other Kick-Ass. We’d like to bring them back after the reboot. This reboot is just going off on a tangent that I can’t really talk about now. But it’s fun.”
The director, who also directed the first two Kingsman films, stated that he “literally bet the house” on the original Kick-Ass film, taking out a mortgage to finance it.
The original movie also starred Chloe Grace Moretz, who played Kick-Ass’s sidekick Hit-Girl, Christopher Mintz-Plasse as Chris D’Amico, and Nicolas Cage as Big Daddy.
So, because the revived film is still in the works, we don’t yet have a release date.
However, as soon as we do, we will post it on here.
