Liam Payne banned from driving after singer caught speeding at 43mph in 30mph zone in his £35k Ford Ranger
LIAM Payne has been banned from driving for six months after he was caught speeding in his £35,000 Ford Ranger.
The One Direction star, 30, was doing 43mph in a 30mph zone in West London when an automatic camera clocked his speed.
Payne was fined £293 and stripped of his licence “due to repeat offending” after the incident in February.
His case was heard at Lavender Hill Magistrates Court on October 9 and the singer was not required to attend.
In previous submissions to the court he said: “I did not realise the speed limit and apologise for speeding.”
In an apparent reference to the court’s request for details of his finances, he added: “I am self employed and cannot provide the information at this stage.
“However I will pay any fine imposed within 14 days.”
Payne has also been handed four penalty points for the offence.
Liam – worth an estimated £47 million – has a huge collection of sports cars including a Lamborghini Aventador worth around £270,000 and a Cadillac Escalade worth £145,000.
He also admitted that he bought himself one of the Ford Anglia’s used in the Harry Potter movies as a massive fan of the series.
