East Bay pets of the week for Oct. 20
Hi, I’m Carolina! I’m so friendly, youthful and smart at only 10 months old, and I enjoy fun, fun, fun and spending time with my person! I may not be a puppy, but I’m full of joyful energy and am already an expert at playing fetch. I’m happy to be entertained with all sorts of games and toys. Visit the Berkeley-East Bay Humane Society (Berkeley Humane) online at berkeleyhumane.org to learn more and schedule a meeting with me.

I’m Panda Bear, a 2-year-old kitty, and a gentle soul that’s a bit timid when introduced to new places.
Beneath my initial shyness, I’m affectionate, loving and incredibly loyal. I’ll curl up beside you, relishing being petted and showered with attention. I’m best suited for a quiet home where I can be the only pet. My adoption fee is $50, and the same goes for all my tuxedo and black kitty friends through Oct. 31! Meet me at East Bay SPCA’s Dublin Adoption Center. The East Bay SPCA (EBSPCA) offers walk-in adoptions at its Oakland and Dublin campuses from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday. Visit eastbayspca.org/adoptions online for more information.

Nala came all the way here from Hawaii in an emergency airlift after the fires there, and she’s still with us despite being an amazing, sweet, extremely good dog. Outside her kennel she’s a happy, calm, engaging, affectionate, GREAT girl, but inside her kennel she is — for lack of a better word — depressed. Nala is 8 and has had a rough last couple of years. She is beyond ready for her fairy-tale ending. To meet this pet at Friends of the Alameda Animal Shelter (FAAS), call 510-337-8565 or visit alamedaanimalshelter.org/adopt online.

Little Spider Monkey’s name really fits. She’s a funny monkey that can be skittish at first, but that changes if a lap and maybe some special treats are available. Spidey is affectionate, loves cuddling and giving kisses, is good with other dogs and might like a fur-brother or fur-sister. Contact the staff at Milo Point Richmond for assistance from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. any day but Tuesdays at 220 S. Garrard Blvd. in Richmond. Our dedicated staff is on duty every day caring for our animals and have saved more than 39,000 lives in 28 years. For more details, visit milofoundation.org/contact-us.

Dolly is one of those rare sorts of kittens. She’s a 4-month-old orange female that loves people and riding in the car. Unlike most cats, she likes water and thinks baths are great. Dolly was born feral but left that life way behind. She did not need to be trapped in order to be brought in to the house. This girl is a delight. For more information about this or any other adoptable pets with the Contra Costa (CCSPCA), call Pat at 925-323-0667.
