My bubble wrap trick costs nothing and can save energy bills by hundreds – everyone needs to know about it
A MAN has shared his genius bubble wrap trick to help keep the house warm without turning the heating on.
Now that the temperatures has dropped so dramatically, people around the country are turning to different ways to retain the heat in their homes.
But amid the cost of living crisis, many are doing their utmost to do so without relying on their heating.
So one man has been praised after sharing his clever hack, which cost him just £16.50 to do his entire house.
“All of you out there freezing your a*s off tonight,” JD said in his TikTok video, as he toted a large roll of bubble wrap.
“Go get some bubble wrap, spray soapy water on the window and cut the bubble wrap to fit.”
Once he’d sprayed the water, he stuck the bubble wrap on the glass, and it’ll “dry and stick just like that”.
As well as still letting the light through, the bubble wrap helps add another layer of insulation – and helps keep the heat in.
“I can’t feel any cold on this window at all,” JD said.
“The cold is gone!”
In the caption, JD added: “This works!! I did all my windows for $20! It is much warmer in my house now!!”
“From doing further research. They say the bubbles against the window works better than the flat side to the window,” JD added in the comments.
Did my windows today,” one person wrote in the comments section.
“Also my steel door inside my apt.
“Neighbours always leave exit door open, it keeps my door frigid. Big difference now in my apartment.”
“Really going to try…I hope it works for old mobile home window slates,” another added.
“I did this and used a temperature gun to test. it helps about 7-8 degrees! worth it in my opinion!” a third commented.
“Thanks for sharing, do you have to reapply at any point?” someone else asked.
With JD responding: “Mine has been up for a year in the back bedrooms and it’s still stuck!”
“I did this, really works!” another added.
“Also saw a creator take painters tape around the gaps on your door frame & that really helps too.”
