I got dress-coded at work for my ‘fairy grunge’ outfit – people say my shorts are ‘cheeky’ but that wasn’t the issue
ONE rebellious dresser’s choice of outfit landed her a violation at work – and it wasn’t for the reason most people expected.
She might have had her own style but her getup got her into hot water.
“The outfit I got dress-coded in at work,” said Gema (@lainfan6).
Wearing short black shorts, tall socks with chunky boots and a tattoo poking out, she spun around to give a better view.
Most people blamed one item for the reason she got reprimanded.
“It’s the shorts. At least from this angle are a bit cheeky,” said one follower who believed she had found the issue.
Other watchers were quick to point out that the shorts weren’t the problem.
“Um, read the caption girl,” one viewer explained.
“They cover everything,” another follower chimed in.
According to Gema, there was indeed another reason why she was deemed to not be up to dress-code standards.
The New Yorker even held up the peace sign as she explained that she didn’t hold it against her workplace.
Said Gemma: “I’m not upset, it’s because they don’t sell the type of clothes at the store.”
Even though the shorts weren’t an issue, many of the professional’s fans thought her place of business was too strict on style requirements.
“It’s so cute. I hate how jobs are so restrictive with dress code when we don’t like or don’t own the clothes they want us to wear,” one follower griped.
“I love your outfit,” another agreed.
“Ty!” Gema replied.
Yet another viewer had his own interpretation of the situation: “They mad you got style.”
