My Shein dress didn’t fit as planned – I did a simple DIY alteration, now it shows off my curves perfectly
A FASHION influencer has revealed her easy tip to alter a Shein dress.
She said the simple DIY hack helped to show off her curves perfectly.
TikToker Jordyn Homan (@jordyndelilah) was disappointed when she received her little black dress from Shein.
But instead of sending it back, she was able to fix the outfit so she could wear the $15 look comfortably.
The ruched tie-back ruffle hem dress can be purchased in black or red, according to Shein’s website.
Jordyn admitted that she likes to wear her clothes tight.
“Shein doesn’t always fit as planned, as I do like my dresses to SUFFOCATE me lol,” she wrote via TikTok.
“Here is my first alteration DIY for y’all,” she said.
Jordyn held up the dress at the start of the video.
Then she tried it on and pulled the outfit at the waist, showing that it was too baggy.
For her “small alteration DIY,” Jordyn grabbed some scissors and black string.
She said to cut small holes in the back of the dress.
Jordyn wore the number backward so it was easier, and then she fed the string through the inside of the dress and tied it.
When she pulled the string, it sinched her waist.
“Hello, curve!” she said when everything was finished.
Fans on social media were impressed with the outcome.
“Well that’s a lot easier than what I thought you were going to do lol looks stunning!” one said.
“I have the exact same dress from Shein and it was WAY too big for me this is actually super helpful,” another wrote.
