I thought I nabbed a bargain food bag for gran but the contents could’ve killed her – I’m reporting it
A WOMAN has been left fuming after receiving energy drinks and fizzy drinks from a TooGoodToGo bag, which she claims was advertised as a ‘winter warmer’ bundle.
Taking to social media, the woman posted a photo of what she got, which she laid out on her round, glass table.
Viewers could see eight cans of Jagged Grapefruit flavoured PopSoda, five cans of Irn-Bru Xtra, five cans of Britvic tonic water, four cans of Good Energy Drink, four cans of Lucozade Alert and one can of Reign Total Body Fuel.
There was also a large bottle of nexba Kombucha and a lime-flavourite Diet Coke bottle on the table alongside three cans of vegetable soup.
It means she got 20 fizzy drinks and nine energy drinks in the package from the company, which connects customers to restaurants and stores that have surplus unsold food.
Despite getting an incredible amount of drinks in the bundle, she was left angered.
In the caption, she wrote: “Reported this, as was advertised as winter warmer nights, got this for my gran. 7 energy drinks would of killed her.
“All fizzy pop 3 tins of summer veg soup and red berry drinking chocolate.”
She went on to claim: “Picture that made me order showed drinking chocolate marshmallows whipped cream. Advertised was VERY miss leading. Reported not got back to me ??!!!!”
But people were baffled by her reaction as many came to defend the brand.
One person shared: “So because energy drinks consumed in massive quantities would kill anyone, never mind your gran this is a bad bag?
“You got sh*t loads of items for your few quid and you’re fuming about it? You’re either incredibly entitled or this is ‘banter’”.
Another said: “This must be a joke [crying with laughter emoji] going off picture is your first mistake and secondly there is so much here that someone else would have appreciated but complaining will soon ruin it for everyone surely you know someone who will make use of this even the neighbours son”.
A third posted: “This is an amazing bag! Bet the person bagging it was thinking ‘one hell of a lucky person whoever gets this one!’ And then you report it”.
While a fourth added: “I’m struggling to see what the issue is here. Winter Warmer there is soup and 2kg of hot chocolate not exactly misleading”.
