October 27, 2023 – Halloween Bat Walk at Lunt Meadows Nature Reserve (Thornton, Liverpool)
Welcome to the Trans Pennine Trail
A national coast to coast route for recreation and transport – for walkers, cyclists and (in parts) horse riders
October 27, 2023 – Halloween Bat Walk at Lunt Meadows Nature Reserve (Thornton, Liverpool)
A Halloween-themed evening looking for bats (and any other nocturnal creatures) at Lunt Meadows Nature Reserve. Starting in the car park, you will then walk through the reserve and talk about bats. You’ll use detectors to find these furry little creatures, as your guide points out what they eat and where they live.
You will be sticking to paths, but these are uneven in places and may involve walking up and down steps so please wear appropriate footwear and dress for the weather, with long trousers and long sleeves. This event is suitable for anyone interested in bats, including families, but please book on early to make sure you get a place.
Please note that as bats require certain weather conditions in which to hunt, there’s no guarantee that you will see a bat but you will search in the most likely spots.
Bat-themed clothing is highly encouraged!
Date: Friday 27th October
Time: 5pm – 7pm
Location: Lunt Meadows Nature Reserve, Thornton, Liverpool
