I worked at Boots and it traumatised me for life, it was the worst time ever – customers had the most bizarre requests
A WOMAN who used to work at Boots has revealed it was the “worst time ever”, and left her “traumatised”.
Daisy recalled one of the situations she’d dealt with while working at the chemist in a video on her TikTok page.
In the clip, she pretended to be a customer who had asked to return five boxes of baby milk.
“I’m absolutely furious,” Daisy, as the customer, said.
“I’m pregnant.
“My baby isn’t born till may, and I got really excited when I found out I was pregnant, and I bought 5 boxes of baby milk,
“But I’ve just read that they go out of date in February.
“My baby’s not even gonna be born then, so I’m returning all five boxes.”
When Daisy told her that she couldn’t return the milk, despite having a receipt, the woman said: “These cost me over £70.
“I need my money back because they are literally useless to me.”
When Daisy told her that it was “store policy” not to accept the return of baby milk, she asked to speak to a manager.
But when Daisy went to find her manager, she found that they were in a meeting, which she then told the customer.
When the woman said that she wasn’t leaving without a refund, Daisy told her to call the Boots helpline, where she would undoubtedly be told the same thing.
The customer then said once again that she wasn’t leaving, at which point Daisy asked her to step aside so she could serve other customers.
“You just said that you’re not leaving until you’re gonna be returning them, so you’re gonna be waiting quite a while,” Daisy concluded.
“POV: you worked at Boots and got traumatised,” she wrote over the top of the TikTok video.
And she added in the caption: “Worst time ever i highly do not recommend.”
“Then the manager comes and refunds it,” one person commented on the video.
To which Daisy replied: “I did ask my manager, he said no and for me to deal with the angry woman refusing to leave.
“Employees do the dirty work i guess!”
“Working at boots was the most mentally draining job i’ve had,” another person added.
“I worked in Boots in St Pancras,” a third commented.
“Hated when people demanded to find out which and where platform their train is departing from. How would I know?”
“My first day in boots someone was complaining about a fly in their baby milk, they’d clearly just put it in there to get a refund,” someone else wrote.
“PHEW i applied for boots yesterday, just seen this video and the comments and got told my application was denied,” another comment read.
But someone else argued: “I loved working in boots”.
“You’re a minority!” Daisy replied.
