In 2022, a staggering 4.73 crore traffic violation challans were issued in India, amounting to Rs 4,654.26 crore. Despite increased fines, the problem persists. Major violations include absence of valid Pollution Under Control certificates, driving with expired Registration Certificates, driving under the influence, failure to yield to emergency vehicles, and juvenile offences.
