East Bay pets of the week for Nov. 3
I’m Basil! At 7 months old, I’m a very active little boy and love to play! I can be quite curious and like to chew on toys amongst other things, so I need plenty of enrichment and someone with a fairly tidy home so I don’t ingest anything harmful. After a long day of silly antics, I turn into a big snuggler and will happily come to you for cuddles and pets. When you adopt me, please keep me indoors only. Not only will I have a longer life, but I will be healthier and safe from the many dangers the great outdoors can pose to a curious kitty like me. Visit the website of the Berkeley-East Bay Humane Society at berkeleyhumane.org to learn more and schedule a meeting with me.

Harmony is a 2-year-old German Shepherd that has been with us for almost two months. She’s a free spirit, intelligent, independent, confident and clever. She prefers making her own decisions but will listen if you make a good case, plus treats are always welcome. You’ll be partners in life adventures. Meet her at East Bay SPCA’s Dublin Adoption Center today. The EBSPCA offers walk-in adoptions at its Oakland and Dublin campuses from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday. For updated and real-time information on EBSPCA programs and offerings, visit eastbayspca.org/adoptions.

This little man, Peanut, is thriving in foster care and needs a forever home. He went from being known as Angry Peanut at the shelter to Happy Peanut at a home with a couple of other small dogs. If you have a small dog who likes other canines, this 10-month-old Chihuahua would likely thrive with you. To meet this pet at Friends of the Alameda Animal Shelter, call 510-337-8565 or visit alamedaanimalshelter.org/adopt.

We are Marilyn’s boys: four little orange guys who are uber friendly and ready to play. We do well with kids and dogs, while adults go crazy over us. No wonder, since we love to hang with them and sleep on their laps. Contact Marilyn at marileealong@comcast.net. Community Concern for Cats now holds weekend adoption events at Pet Food Express stores in Walnut Creek and Martinez along with our regular location at 1250-H Newell Ave. in Walnut Creek. Visit communityconcernforcats.org for more information.

Gingersnap and Snickerdoodle are ready for homes to call their own! This fun and active duo would thrive in a home with another dog and people that are active and can exercise them mentally and physically! They’re smart, willing, attentive, eager to learn and to please and family friendly, too. Contact the staff at Milo Point Richmond for assistance from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. except Tuesdays at 220 S. Garrard Blvd. in Richmond. Our dedicated staff is on duty every day caring for our animals and have saved more than 39,000 lives in 28 years. For more details, visit milofoundation.org/contact-us.

This big guy is a happy, good looking pit bull. Bolo doesn’t know how cute he looks because he’s blind, and he’s been so since birth. He almost lost his life because of his “special needs” but we rescued him just in time. We’re looking for a home for him where he can be the only dog. If you have experience with blind animals we’d love to tell you about him. For more information about this or any other adoptable pets with the Contra Costa SPCA, call Pat at 925-323-0667.
