Trump launches new attacks on 'true hater' judge after she reinstates gag order
Donald Trump started off the day with a series of posts blaming President Joe Biden for his legal woes and attacking a federal judge overseeing his prosecution in the election subversion case.
District Judge Tanya Chutkan reinstated a gag order Sunday against the former president that prohibits him from publicly targeting court personnel, potential witnesses or the special counsel’s team, but hours later Trump lashed out at her and threatened to prosecute Biden if he wins re-election, and he started off Monday with social media posts on the same theme.
"Why didn’t they start the totally political BIDEN INDICTMENTS & COURT CASES Three (3) Years Ago, instead of the MIDDLE OF MY CAMPAIGN??? Third World Country-ELECTION INTERFERENCE!!!" Trump posted on Truth Social. "If they started the highly political Biden Indictments 3 years ago, everything would now be finished. THEY WAITED UNTIL MY CAMPAIGN BEGAN!"
Special counsel Jack Smith was appointed in November 2022 to oversee two Justice Department investigations into Trump after he announced his intention to run in 2024, but those probes had been launched months earlier, and attorney general Merrick Garland had initially opposed investigating the former president over Jan. 6 due to political and other concerns.
POLL: Should Trump be allowed to run for office?
"The Obama appointed Federal Judge in D.C, a TRUE TRUMP HATER, is incapable of giving me a fair trial," Trump wrote. "Her Hatred of President DONALD J. TRUMP is so great that she has been diagnosed with a major, and incurable, case of TRUMP DERANGEMENT SYNDROME!!!"
"These highly political (All started by Crooked Joe Biden!) Lawsuits and Indictments shouldn’t be allowed to start until AFTER THE ELECTION IS OVER! Our Founding Fathers are looking down at Biden with scorn!" he added.
