Rangers' Adolis García Out of World Series Game 4 Lineup After Exiting Game 3 With Side Tightness

0

One day after moving within two wins of their first World Series title in franchise history, the Rangers announced they will be without the man who may be most responsible for getting them there.

Texas outfielder Adolis García is not in the lineup for Game 4, the Rangers indicated Tuesday afternoon. Travis Jankowski will start in García's usual right field position.

García exited Game 3 with tightness in his left side. He went 0-for-3 with a walk against the Diamondbacks before being replaced by Jankowski. Texas won the game 3-1.

During the regular season, García slashed .245/.328/.508 with 39 home runs and 107 RBIs.

Rangers manager Bruce Bochy indicated García has "a moderate strain of the oblique," which he characterized as "never a good thing."

García was named the MVP of the Rangers' seven-game ALCS triumph over the Astros after slashing .357/.400/.893 with five home runs and 15 RBIs in the series.
