Messy Wednesday but lots of energy

0

Hello Friends,

Eight to 10 knots of southerly wind from the get go this morning and a complex mix of S-SE swell in the 10-second range along with a declining 12-sec E-NE component were adding up to pretty chaotic looking conditions at Dee Why when I checked just before 0800. As you can see from the pics, there were plenty of people in the water, but they were doing a lot of waiting around in the junky conditions. Tide was coming off the 0445 low and is now headed toward a very swampy 1.8 metre high at 1120. I’d still wouldn’t recommend it to beginners, but for reasonably experienced riders it should be ok for a paddle.

By tomorrow we should be back to more typical spring conditions with a mix of shortish period SE bumps and weak onshores for the early.

Go well!

Weather Situation

Fresh southerly winds will gradually ease and become southeasterly over the coming days as a ridge of high pressure develops along the New South Wales coast. Winds will then become east to northeasterly by the latter part of the week as a trough develops over the inland New South Wales.
