Gujarat: Murdered woman ‘consented’ to get killed by husband!

The Valsad consumer court has upheld the denial of a Rs 15 lakh insurance claim to Jimit Desai, whose mother was murdered by her husband. The court stated that the deceased woman's lack of resistance indicated her complicity in a plot to obtain "accident insurance". The court concluded that her death was not accidental but a suicide or self-inflicted death. The insurance firm argued that the incident was pre-planned by the family to avoid repaying a loan. The court accepted the insurance company's arguments and rejected the claim.
