Mystery as mum-of-five Annie Humphreys suddenly dies as family pay tribute to ‘life and soul of the party’
TRIBUTES are pouring in for a mum who suddenly died – leaving behind five children.
Annie Humphreys, 47, is now being remembered as the woman who always put everyone else first.
Her loved ones day her death comes as a massive shock, and will ripple through the Torpoint community.
Sophie Strevens, who called herself Annie’s “bonus daughter”, said the mum touched so many people’s lives and would be deeply missed.
She told CornwallLive: “Annie was the life and soul of the party. She was always the loud one. Always the happy one. She’d do anything for anybody.
“She was actually my sister-in-law but brought me up from a young age like a mum. Her death was very sudden and we’re still waiting on the coroner’s report.
“She was extremely loved and popular in Torpoint. Everybody knew her. It’s a massive shock to us all and we’re struggling to deal with what’s happened.”
Annie’s family are mourning her sudden death, after she died on October 26.
A fundraiser has now been set up to try raise money for her children – the youngest of which was 11.
Its aim is to raise funds for Christmas presents for the five of them.
The GoFundMe reads: “Annie was a kind-hearted, excitable woman who tragically lost her life on October 26, 2023. This was completely unexpected with her leaving her five children behind.
“Annie was a constant in all of her children’s lives and always gave her children everything she had. She had a heart of gold and touched most of our hearts in one way or another.
“She’d always put her friends and children before herself and was there for anyone who needed her no matter what was going on in her own life. She was my best friend’s (Sophie’s) bonus mum.
“Annie helped raise Sophie from a teenager and considered Sophie’s children her grandchildren. The family are beyond shattered by the passing of Annie especially so close to Christmas. Unfortunately Annie won’t be able to give her younger children the Christmas they deserve and have always had so I’ve decided to start a GoFundMe to raise money for their Christmas presents.
“Every penny counts and would be deeply appreciated. Thank you to everyone for taking the time to read this and thank you to everyone who donates.”
