I tried and tested my first vagina steam & it wasn’t at all what I expected – it was intensely emotional for starters
A WOMAN has opened up about having her first ever vagina steam – and why it was nothing like she expected.
In fact, she said the experience was overwhelming and left her in tears, and with a feeling that her dead grandparents were in the room with her.
Social media influencer Tamsin revealed she recently tried the treatment, which sees a woman sitting or squatting over a steaming pot of water with herbs and essential oils in it in a bid to “cleanse and heal the vagina, uterus and reproductive tract.”
“Ok, so yesterday I bit the bullet and I had my vagina steamed,” she began in the video posted to her TikTok account @maybetamsin.
She then asked her 500k plus followers to “hear her out” about why she opted for the wacky beauty trend, also known as V-steaming.
Tamsin explained that she’d previously been to the Los Angeles spa where they offer it, and, due to her talking about them on social media, they offered her the treatment free of charge.
She continued: “Of course, my default as an English person is to always be polite, so I said, ‘yes that would be great, let’s try it out’.”
Tamsin went on: “To be fair, I did say I would lean into everything in LA while I was here, so it was time for me to put my vagina where my mouth is.”
She then recalled the unique experience, and how it was totally different from what she initially thought.
The TikToker revealed: “The room it was in was actually really cool and really calming.
“The whole thing was made of Jade and they had charcoal on the ceiling, and basically had what looked like loads of raised wooden loos around the room. There were probably five in there.”
Tamsin was then told to wear a long, strapless gown and position herself on the seat.
She continued: “You have infrared in the loo, and also on your feet.
“You have a footstool, like a squatty potty, to put your feet on.”
Opening up about her preconceptions about going into the spa, Tamsin explained: “For some reason I was expecting to sit down and have steam train steam – it was nothing like that.”
She also clarified that there was nobody giving her the treatment and that she was able to “sit alone and have privacy.”
Tamsin added of the 30 minute treatment: “It was just warm. I don’t know how to explain it – it’s not what you think of when you think of a steam room.
“You do also have control so you can change the infrared and the steam intensity.
I felt very emotional and I burst into tears

“For the first 15 minutes, I thought, ‘This feels like a warm cosy hug on my nether regions – I felt fine.”
But just over mid-way through, something happened that took Tamsin by surprise.
She confessed: “I got to about the 20 minute mark and I suddenly felt extremely overwhelmed.
“I don’t know if it was the jet lag, or a combination of what’s happening in my personal life and in the world right now, I felt very emotional and I burst into tears.
“And then, at one point, I was also convinced that my dead grandparents were in the room with me and talking to me – I cannot tell you what happened, it was super weird.”
But despite emotions running high in the treatment room, Tamsin said it quickly subsided.
She concluded: “I felt that intense emotion for about a minute, and then I was great – light as a feather, I felt amazing.”
Tamsin then quipped: “I guess I’m all for vagina steams!”
