Newcastle Eagles defeat Basket Brno for first European victory
Newcastle Eagles get the first win of the ENBL campaign, 87-81, against Czech side Basket Brno, at the Vertu Motors Arena on Tuesday evening.
Following a controversial ending that saw them lose their ENBL 2023-2024 opener, the Eagles were able to hold on to their five point lead entering the fourth quarter.

Jordan Johnson led Newcastle in scoring with 25 points, he added 5 rebounds and 8 assists to his tally. Johnson’s stellar performance propelled his team to victory.
Five players scored in double digits for Newcastle. Tajh Green secured a double-double with 20 points and 13 rebounds.
Tomas Zdanavicius scored a game-high 29 points, leading four players in double digits for Brno. Ondrej Siska registered a double-double with 12 points and 10 assists.
The Eagles will return to action in the ENBL against Valmeira Glass Via on November 11th at Valmeira Olympic Centre at 7pm.
