Five TV costume designers will reveal secrets behind their projects when they join Gold Derby’s special “Meet the Experts” Q&A event with 2024 awards contenders. They will participate in two video discussions to premiere on Wednesday, November 8, at 4:00 p.m. PT; 7:00 p.m. ET. Black Cake (Hulu)
Synopsis: Bride Covey disappears in the shore, under unknown circumstances or reasons. A flash drive will change the life of Eleanor Bennett, years later.
Bio: Hayley Nebauer’s career has included “Doctor Who,” “The Musketeers,” “The Capture” and “McDonald and Dobbs.”
The Continental (NBC / Peacock)
Synopsis: Set in 1970s New York City, The Continental explores the origin of the iconic hotel-for-assassins centerpiece of the John Wick universe seen through the eyes and action of a young Winston Scott.
Bio: Sarah Arthur’s career is a two-time Emmy nominee for “Sherlock,” plus other projects “Collateral,” “Dracula” and “The Sandman.”
Fargo (FX)
Synopsis: Various chronicles of deception, intrigue, and murder in and around frozen Minnesota. All of these tales mysteriously lead back one way or another to Fargo, North Dakota.
Bio: Carol Case’s career has included “Heartland,” “Let Him Go,” “High School,” “Fargo” and “Billy the Kid.”
Lessons in Chemistry (Apple TV+)
Synopsis: Set in the 1950s, Elizabeth Zott’s dream of being a chemist is put on hold when she finds herself pregnant, alone, and fired from her lab.
Bio: Mirren Gordon-Crozier’s career has included “Short Term 12,” “The Girl from Plainville,” “Where the Crawdads Sing” and “The Burial.”
Queen Charlotte (Netflix)
Synopsis: Betrothed against her will to King George, young Charlotte arrives in London on her wedding day and faces scrutiny from the monarch’s cunning mother.
Bio: Lyn Paolo is a two-time Emmy winner for “Homefront” and also received nominations for “The West Wing” and “Queen Charlotte.”
