Daniel Farke pre Leicester
Djed Spence is not in team training at the moment, we expect him to be back in the next seven to 14 days. We expect him to be involved after the international break. Junior Firpo is in team training. This week was his first proper training week. He's edging closer and no setback. He's in the mix and available. There were a few players with concerns in the last game, Joe Rodon, Sam Byram and Cree Summerville, yes I substituted all three of them. We took care of them and they were able to train today. If there's no reaction they're all available. Joe Gelhardt has a hand fracture and we're waiting further assessment so he'll miss the next couple of weeks if he needs surgery.
On being able to withdraw players at Huddersfield
It was necessary. It was not like I was too concerned about their load so we had to make the decision and thank god there was time for recovery.
Glen Kamara influence
I think in general we have a really young squad when you look at our average age in the squad. Glen, we don't have to speak about his CV he's played for Rangers where they have to win every week. It was difficult for him in the start because he didn't have a pre-season and wasn't involved that much in the second-half of last season. There's still more to come and he needs more time. He's still needs to sharpen up a bit in a physical way due to his lack of game time but the more he plays the better his endurance will be. He's a top team-mate and lad. He's a great guy to have around.
On celebrations
I was more or less celebrating with my team-mates, now they dance on the football pitch. If you're that capable then it's good fun and it's allowed. The right topic is having the right moves in the football boots.
On character to come off the bench
I'm sure Willy Gnonto would have liked to have started this game. It's about us as a group and the bench is the first up celebrating. It's all about the team and the spirit in this group. The lads respond in a positive way so long may it continue. This unity is special and it's still growing.
Farke on Leicester City
You have to say they deserve their point tally and to be in this position. It's remarkable, they deserve all the praise. There are many reasons, many top players who've played at Premier League level and have stability in the club, although there was the relegation, you got the feeling they got to work quickly with a core group. A well run club and it leads into now. We're full of respect and we know we have to be at our best with a top class performance. We will travel in respect but not fear.
Farke on gap to Leicester and whether it matters
No, no, no. Two quality sides and the floodlights will be on. Both teams want to win the points but you don't want an easy win. You want these battles but it's far away from being a final. If it's the 45th game and you need to win in order for promotion, not the 15th game. Both teams have it in their own hand. When it's direct promotion you need it after 46 games. You have everything in your own hands. At the moment we don't have to speak about promotion, direct promotion or play-offs. We need to talk about promotion and we want to win with our mates. Let the table take care of itself. After 46 games see where you are but not now. Point gaps, at the moment is not important.
Farke on changing approach and counter-attacking effectiveness
Our approach will never be that we park the bus and put the ball over the stand and counter over 90 yards. We want to attack the games and want to be the protagonist. We're Leeds United and we want to be like this wherever we go and wherever we play. You have to be good in all periods of the game. We dominated the second-half against Huddersfield and we want to use each and every tool to create chances. Not just with counter attacks, we were quite strong and won the ball in the opponents half. It's something we want to use but important to be rock solid with a structure off the ball.
Farke on the battle for possession
Bravery - it's important that you're brave enough to press the opponent. We don't want to win the possession statistic, it always has to benefit us because we think it's the best way to give yourself a chance to win the game. If you have the ball the opponent can't score. It helps you to increase your chances to win the game but it's important not to lose focus, we want to win the game. It will be difficult to stay in possession, you need periods where you have to defend rock solid
Charlie Cresswell
We're careful to send too many players to the Under-21s. Mateo Joseph desperately needed game time after his injury, I think during a busy schedule it's important to be more selective. We need to make some pragmatic decisions
On Leeds ownership stability
It's important you're in the driving seat. No player is bigger than the club even a star player. Sometimes the wind can be in your face and it can be tricky with things going on in the background. You have to work step to step to achieve stability and we're all on the same page here. Our process is quite good but there's lots of work behind the scenes and many, many areas we want and need to improve. We're definitely on the right path.
