Daniel Farke post Leicester
To be brave, play with courage and go for it with confidence was the key today. Such a good side, a possession side. They have one of the bets starts in the history of the second tier. When you want something in a game like this you have to be brave and bring the game to their half. Press with high risk and bravery.
Cannot have spirit over 90 minutes. Have to allow them the ball sometimes and be structured. Complex performance. Good with the high press. When they are in possession, to stay disciplined and well-structured. Build up in the areas where they cannot hurt you. Have to praise my lads a lot.
You surprised?
Not surprised. I believe in my players and believed we could dominate the game how we did in the opening 15 mins of each half. Can be decisive when yo don't score during good spells. Kept going. Good in moments we had to stay structured. Could see the goal coming.
So many good situations. Liked a lot Leicester's performance in possession, but a well deserved win in the need based on our chances
Rutter
Delighted for him. Works so hard. We talked about him improving his goal tally. Delighted for him. Decisive goal. Sometimes easy with the sixth or seventh, but to get the first was massive.
Collective
If you want to achieve something special you need unity. Players buy into it. Pleasure to work with them. Have to keep spirits high and every player wants to play. How they dig in for each other is huge. Supporters amazing and one of the key reasons we have been good for the last few weeks. My players have a good sense of who was excellent.
My leaders were not that much involved. Not many mins for Cooper. Second to none. We have to keep going. I cannot dance on the table and sing the high praise
Keeps the table interesting?
Maybe. For us, the table is not important after 15 or 20 games. Matters after 46. Whatever the outcome would be today, everything is still possible for both sides. Big confidence boost for us. Great three points. Another clean shee
Late change? Shackleton?
Archie has played many minutes. Not a surprise he starts. Jamie would have been an option after the last game. Glute issue. More or less clear Archie would play his part today. Needed a full-back to stay deeper and defend. Someone who can shift into midfield. Archie quick enough to defend a terrific winger. He was rock solid. Quite normal to struggle at points
Look after the ball?
It was in general quite important. When we scare them. Recover at times in possession, they want to tire the opponent with endless passes. When you have the ball, don't always go for counters and give the ball away. Glen was excellent. Key players tonight.
Meslier save - why him over Darlow?
His potential without any doubt. He can be any goalkeeper at one point. Unbelievably young. Important to play with confidence. Has the skills to play out from the back. Needs confidence for this, but his potential is outstanding. Crucial for six clean sheets and good defensive behaviour. Crucial for build-up. A diamond like him has to be backed. Young goalkeepers will make mistakes, but this has to be expected. Excellent overall this season. Best goalkeeper in the league.
