After the Buzzer – Vipers Offense Rolls as They Blank the Spruce Kings 8-0
Vernon, BC: There was plenty of offense to go around as six different Vipers registered multi point nights and Ethan David stopped 25 shots for his 9th career shutout as they took down the Prince George Spruce Kings 8-0 in front of the largest crowd of the year, 2501 fans.
Jiri Duda got the scoring started in the first period with his first BCHL goal. He’d tack on an assist later on.
“It was really nice to get that first one,” says Duda. “Our offense has be hot lately and everyone has played a big part and we plan to keep it going.”
Owen Kim also had a goal and assist, including the first shorthanded goal of the season.
Anthony Cliche scored twice with his fourth and fifth goals of the season.
Maks Percic, Bronson Ross and Isaac Tremblay had two assist nights.
Ethan David was great making 25 saves for his 8th win of the season and his first shutout of the season.
The Vipers penalty kill was a difference maker killing off all 6 PG powerplays. The Vipers man advantage struck twice on five chances. It currently sits 2nd in the BCHL at 30.9%.
The Vipers will host the Merritt Centennials next Friday to wrap up their homestand.
