RAISE A TOAST Foodie shares hack on how to make toasties with zero washing up – and people say it’s the best thing ever
THEY’RE a guaranteed delicious lunchtime snack that you can fill with plenty of melted cheese and other fillings.
But if you’ve ever made a toastie in a machine, you’ll know they’re not easy to clean afterwards.
So now one foodie has shared her genius hack to be able to make a tasty toastie whenever she wants – but without having to worry about the washing up.
And people are so impressed with the idea that they’ve branded it the best thing they’ve seen on TikTok.
Social media user Lauren’s Cravings explained how she makes her toastie and then wraps it in greaseproof paper to stop the cheese from spilling out onto her trusty kitchen appliance.
Lauren asked her followers: “Who doesn’t want more cheese and less mess when making toasties?”
Lauren, who can be found on TikTok at her profile @laurenscravings, then said: “Toastie in greaseproof paper – the kitchen jack you wish you knew soon.
“I started doing this a few years ago and I didn’t even think of it as a ‘hack’ until I shared it on my stories a couple of months ago and so many of you LOVED the idea.
“Keeping all that oozing, melty cheese inside and around the toastie, whilst keeping your health grill totally clean – win win.”
She added: “If you’d like to retain that ooey-gooey cheese and keep that toastie tidy, use greaseproof paper to wrap it up.”
And Lauren wasn’t wrong about her 78.3k followers going crazy for the idea.
The Glaswegian was soon inundated with comments from fellow foodies who declared it a brilliant hack.
One social media user said: “Wait! This is the best thing I’ve ever seen on this app!”
A second joined in the praise, as they added: “omg can do that for so many types of toasties without the filling going everywhere.”
While a third typed: “Why the hell didn’t I think of this before?! And this is my favourite toastie too!”
The video, which has also received 5000 likes, also had comments such as “Genius!”
While someone else entered the conversation to deem it “nifty” and thanked Lauren for the “great tip.”
Another said: “I do wish I’d known this sooner – this has cheered me up. I’m on it.”
Meanwhile, others said they had already caught onto the trick and have never looked back.
One person explained: “We always do this!”
