Trump ally Elise Stefanik attacks Judge Engoron's 'biased' law clerk in new statement
Donald Trump is barred from saying negative things about the law clerk serving for the judge in the former president's civil fraud case, but there is no gag order on his allies in the government.
Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY), who was recently called out for remaining silent on indicted Rep. George Santos (R-NY) while New York Republicans were seeking to boot him from Congress, made a stand on Saturday against the gag order Trump faces.
In a statement, Stefanik calls the order, put in place to shield Judge Engoron's law clerk from potential Trump-inspired violence, "unconstitutional and illegal."

She then goes on to attack the clerk.
"The Far Left Judge's clerk is a major Democrat donor and operative who has apparently donated more than the yearly limit for a New York Judge's staff member," Stefanik said. "It is illegal and un-American for the Leftist Judge in NY to order that President Trump and his legal team can't raise issues about the Judge's biased law clerk ---- especially when it is very obvious that she is playing an integral role in the case."
Stefanik concludes by pointing a finger at Democrats.
"This is a dangerous pattern by Democrats across the country to try to muzzle any defendant ---- let alone the leading Presidential candidate who is leading in all the polls against corrupt Joe Biden," she added. "Republicans must join together to fight back against the unprecedented and illegal weaponization of Government against President Trump."
Stafanik claims that she will "do everything" she can "as the Republican House Conference Chair to stop this madness."
