Inside world’s most ferocious off-road campervan worth £300k with army-grade accessories & luxury glamping pod
A FEROCIOUS off-road campervan has been dubbed one of the world’s most hardcore with army-grade accessories.
‘The Hilt’ combines one of the most popular pick-up trucks in the United States – a Ram 5500 ute – with a lavish £365,000 glamping pod.
Storyteller Overland, a company who “design, engineer, and manufacture the world’s greatest adventure rigs” have revealed their latest state of the art camper.
But, it’s not your average tiny home on wheels, instead crafted for explorers who wish to navigate the toughest terrains.
The Hilt is propped up on monster 41-inch tyres and bead-lock wheels – a type of wheel used in military operations and now common for off-road and rock-crawling adventurers.
Inside the fierce camper, travellers can enjoy their journey with a kitchen, bathroom, dining area, and get a peaceful sleep in the queen-sized bed.
A fully working kitchen even boasts an oven and induction stove top, as well as a microwave for convenience and a generous worktop for food prep.
And, keeping food on long haul trips won’t be an issue either, with both a fridge and freezer unit providing an impressive holding capacity.
Meanwhile the lavish bathroom offers a significant upgrade to your regular campervans.
There’s plenty of room in the 6ft 5ins shower, alongside a fitted toilet and basin.
The living area, which can comfortably host up to five people can be transformed into an extra bedroom at night with a queen bed.
Plus, the primary sleeping area is also equipped with the large sized-bed, heavy insulation, heating, air conditioning and 110-volt outlets to power a range of devices.
Moving to the exterior, passengers in The Hilt may be thrilled to hear it comes with a nine-tonne winch on the bumper.
Off-roading can be dangerous due to the extreme conditions faces in harsh landscapes.
But, this monster truck comes with eight 10-inch perimeter light bars, five 8-inch front lights, two fog lights, and two spot so the driver can always see what’s ahead.
There are also three selectable drive modes and a “zero torsion” subframe suspension system.
Meanwhile, the Ram 5500 ute engine produces a whopping 370 horsepower.
When the vehicle is stationary, occupants could enjoy eating out around a campfire and sit under the 13-inch awning that folds out from the roof.
Storyteller Overland notes on its website there are limited Hilt builds available for the 2024 model year.
This comes as one of the world’s most lavish motorhomes, with a full-size kitchen, a motorised TV, and a full-blown car parking space has been revealed.
