8:00 p.m. — “Previously on ‘Hell’s Kitchen’!” In the episode 6, the chefs went head-to-head in a soccer themed cuisine fusion challenge where the Blue Team came out on top. After a successful dinner service that included celebs Melissa Rivers and Eric Dickerson, Bradley was forced to withdraw for medical reasons. Then Gordon decided to eliminate Raneisha from the Red Team, stating the 38-year-old from Foxworth, Mississippi “had a really strong voice in the kitchen, but unfortunately her cooking didn’t speak loud enough.” Who will be sent home next?
8:05 p.m. — The Red Team is heartbroken that Raneisha was eliminated, but it’s a new day at Hell’s Kitchen and time for a new challenge. Everyone heads outside to a 4th of July parade featuring Miss Idaho. They’ll celebrate with a backyard BBQ challenge. Each chef has 45 minutes to impress Gordon with an elevated dish straight off the grill. Time starts now!
8:20 p.m. — Each team is responsible for six different proteins that will be judged head-to-head. Atoye and Dahmere will face off in the battle of the chicken thigh. Leigh and Jason are each cooking chicken breast. Sandra and Ryan are both making swordfish. The trout will be handled by Sammi ad Johnathan. The flat iron steak is being handled by Carmen and Devon. The New Yorkers, Donya and Jermaine, will be battling once again with their tri-tip steaks. After each chef hits the grill, Pit Master Aaron Franklin comes out to judge. Here are the results:
Sandra defeats Ryan
Dahmere defeats Atoye
Leigh defeats Jason
Sammi and Johnathan tie
Carmen defeats Devon
Donya defeats Jermaine
The Red Team has won this challenge 5-2 and Aaron calls Donya’s dish the best of the day. The men will have to clean, disassemble, and box up the grills for their punishment, because they’re being shipped to the women! Yes, each chef on the Red Team won their own Vision Grill as well as trip to Dave & Buster’s and a Japanese gourmet meal.
8:30 p.m. — Both teams are back in the kitchen and ready for dinner service. It’s steak night and Gordon has created a special menu. “Pawn Star” host Rick Harrison will be dining in the Blue Kitchen while rapper G-Eazy has a seat in the Red Kitchen. Sammi gets a little flustered when she sees G-Eazy walk through the door and quickly heads over to flirt. Then it’s time to get to work as orders start pouring in. The Blue Team is off to a great start, nailing their crab cakes. The Red Team matches their quality and appetizers are flying out of the kitchen.
8:38 p.m. — Entree orders are coming in and Sandra and Sammi head up the meat station for the Red Team with Leigh on fish. Over on the Blue Team, Jermaine is nervous at the garnish station, quickly drawing criticism from Gordon. Sandra has a minor misstep on the Red Team when she cooks twice as many steaks as Gordon asked for. Luckily they were cooked beautifully or she may have been walking out the door. The Red Team is cruising through this dinner service. G-Eazy looks quite satisfied. Things aren’t going so well on the Blue Team, who are called in for another huddle with Gordon. Jermaine’s mushrooms are cold as he continues to struggle at the garnish station. Dahmere steps in to help Jermaine, determined to get the Blue Team through this service.
8:45 p.m. — Although Sandra struggles to remember tickets and use her voice, she’s nailing the cook on these steaks. Gordon gives her a pep talk and tells her, “When you use your voice you’re a different chef.” The Blue Team continues their struggles, falling behind on tickets. Then Devon serves up a raw steak and Gordon pulls them all back to the pantry. After telling them to get it together, they get back to work. Devon is frustrated because the whole team is helping Jermaine at the garnish station while he’s left cooking steaks by himself. Then, after a nearly perfect dinner service, Sandra puts up an undercooked steak. Still, she quickly recovers.
8:50 p.m. — The Blue Team is finally putting out entrees consistently when Devon serves up another raw steak. Frustrated, Gordon throws the entire team out of the kitchen. He pulls Dahmere aside and tells the chef he’s the only one with a voice and passion. Then Gordon says he needs two nominees from the Blue Team for elimination and he wants Dahmere to make the decision himself. Meanwhile, the Red Team finishes strong and finishes tonight’s dinner service on a high note.
9:00 p.m. — The Blue Team has a heated discussion in the dorms, but Dahmere has made a decision. He nominates Jermaine and Devon for elimination. After pleading their cases to stay in front of Gordon, the chef eliminated is Jermaine. As the episode ends Gordon states, “Jermaine couldn’t even handle the garnish station, so he ended up at the bus station.”
