I’m A Celebrity’s terrifying walk the plank trial gets scary new twist as bosses make it the hardest challenge yet
HERE’S the first look at I’m A Celebrity’s devilish new twist on the dreaded Walk The Plank entry challenge as bosses ramp up the drama for this year’s series.
The Sun’s exclusive footage shows ITV’s crew trialling the brand new trial on top of the Focus Building in Surfer’s Paradise.
And the teaser shows a huge change to the well-known challenge.
The ‘Guinea pig’ campmates can be seen clinging to a cylindrical metal pole on all fours as they attempt to edge along the length, out into thin air to retrieve a star.
Filming in the rain, it means one slip on the pole could see a celebrity take a tumble off the 100m-high suspension, using their safety gear to its full extent.
Before tackling the new feature, the celebs will have to descend down another metal structure – a ladder.
In past years celebs had to edge out along a wobbly plank but bosses appear keen to mix things up ahead of the new series.
Last year some viewers had said the high octane opener had begun to feel familiar.
A source said: “One thing is immediately clear from the pictures we’ve seen of trial structures so far and now the brand new Focus Building set-up – ITV hasn’t come to play this year.
“The volume has been well and truly cranked up on every Bushtucker Trial. Everything is on track for a bigger and better series than ever.”
It comes after The Sun revealed images of structures including an Aztec-style temple, a battered treehouse and an outdoor pool complete with six sunken cages
