It will take just Rs 3 crore to wash down Delhi's toxic air and the process would provide relief for at least a week, said IIT Kanpur researchers. They said it will take Rs 1 lakh to cover one square kilometre of cloud area for cloud seeding while being air-bound. The institute is targeting a cloud spanning 300 square kilometres as part of an artificial rain project in association with the Delhi government, with the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) acting as a coordinator between the two.
