My Roomba escaped while I was putting up Christmas decorations, I lost it for two days, people think it’s hysterical
A CHRISTMAS decorator has revealed she was decking the halls when her Rooma escaped.
The autonomous vacuum was lost for two days before it returned home.
TikToker Betzy Production (@betsyproduction) created a video about the robot’s getaway.
Within days it went viral, garnering more than 25 million views within four days of being posted.
Betzy posted clips from her security system, which showed the Roomba “vacuuming” the walkway in front of her house.
“Couldn’t find my Roomba for two days and then saw this on the Ring camera,” she wrote on the video. “Come back.”
Betzy added George Michael’s ’90s hit, Freedom, to the post.
The comments section was abuzz, obtaining more than 27,000 responses.
One of them was from a person who wanted to know how the Roomba got out.
“I have seen so many Roomba escape videos lately,” she wrote. “Are y’all leaving your doors open or have they learned to open doors?”
Betzy said they weren’t paying attention while getting ready for the holidays because they Roomba normally doesn’t go outside.
“We had my front door open because we were putting Christmas decorations in and out all day,” she answered.
“It normally stops at the stairs,” Betzy added.
People in the comments section thought the incident was hilarious.
“This is so funny to me for some reason,” one person wrote.
“I’m dying! The song choice,” a second said.
“Funniest thing I’ve seen today,” a third added.
During its two-day expedition, the TikToker confirmed that the Roomba vacuumed the mulch.
In a follow-up post, Betzy revealed the Roomba obtained some damages from the two-day excursion.
“It took a hit,” Betzy wrote. “Lost the bottom padding and both brushes cleaning these streets.”
Once they learn your home, a Roomba will clean for 120 minutes before returning to their home base, CNET said.
The battery can last one to two years before it needs to be replaced, the publication added.
