Alabama GOP candidate threatened to shoot customer service rep 'in the head' during call
A Republican candidate for Congress in Alabama’s 5th District in 2017 leveled racist and sexist abuse at a customer service representative that wound up seeing him get suspended from practicing the law.
AL.com reports that Alabama congressional hopeful Daniel Boman went on an unhinged tirade when he called up Samsung to complain about a visit to his home to repair his washing machine.
In the first part of the call, Boman spoke with a Black customer service representative, who then transferred him to a female colleague.
It was at this point that the fireworks began to erupt, as Boman erupted at the female customer service representative by calling her a "f--king b---h who was "about as much help as that f--king n----r that I spoke with."
Boman then told her that "I will shoot you in the f--king head."
This call would come back to bite Boman when he sued Samsung in small claims court, as the company's attorneys revealed they had made a recording of it and presented it as evidence against him.
This led to the Disciplinary Board of the Alabama State Bar suspending him in 2019 for violating the Alabama Rules of Professional Conduct.
In an interview with AL.com, Boman expressed regret for losing his cool during the call and he insisted that it was not reflective of the kind of man he is.
"I was humbled," he said of his punishment for making the call. "Of all the things I have done in political or legal world, or just my personal life, that would be a top five thing that I wish I could undo. But unfortunately in life, there are no mulligans."
