A long-awaited truce deal, involving the exchange of Israeli hostages for Palestinian prisoners, between Israel and Hamas began Friday with the first exchange scheduled the in afternoon. Up to 39 Palestinian prisoners including 24 women, some of which were convicted of attempted murder for attacks on Israeli forces, and 15 teenagers who were jailed for offenses like throwing stones, would be released from Israeli jails. Israel currently detains some 8,300 Palestinians of which more than 3,000 have been incarcerated without trial, FRANCE 24's International Affairs Editor Oliver Farry said.
