MANCHESTER CITY v Liverpool is the highlight of this weekend’s Premier League programme – how big a game will that be in the title race?
Fellow contenders Arsenal also head to Brentford on the TV, while Sunday’s big games sees Everton, fresh from their points deduction, hosting Manchester United.

Manchester City vs Liverpool: Both teams to score (1/2)
This bet has landed in 11 of the last 13 meetings of these two title rivals and should do again on Saturday lunchtime.
Pep Guardiola and Jurgen Klopp won’t suddenly go defensive, particularly City given they are the home side.
Their recent 4-4 draw at Chelsea showed they can be vulnerable when teams go at them as Liverpool, with their fearsome forward line, surely will.
It’s hard not to see City scoring – the last time that happened in a Premier League game at the Etihad was October 2021.

Nottingham Forest vs Brighton: Forest/draw double chance (7/10)
It’s now no win in six Premier League games for Brighton, whose bright starts seems a long time ago – probably because it actually was.
Forest may have lost Taiwo Awoniyi to injury but their squad has depth these days and they are still capable of causing a weak Brighton defence problems – the Seagulls are yet to keep a domestic clean sheet this season.
They failed to beat Sheffield United at home last time out and now have Mahmoud Dahoud suspended for this awkward trip.
Forest have lost only two of their last 20 league games at the City Ground and so look more than capable of avoiding defeat.

Luton vs Crystal Palace: Palace to win (11/10)
It has paid to oppose the three promoted sides so far this season with the trio managing just three victories between them.
Luton are responsible for just one of those and remain winless at Kenilworth Road.
They have the highest expected goals against figure in the Premier League and with Palace having Eberechi Eze and Michael Olise fit again, the visitors should create enough to add to the home side’s woes.
Palace have already won three of their six away games, triumphing on the road at the other promoted clubs, Sheffield United and Burnley.

Newcastle vs Chelsea: Draw/Chelsea double chance (13/25)
Newcastle have a crippling injury list at present, while they are still coming to terms with losing star summer signing Sandro Tonali to a long-term suspension.
They were well beaten at Bournemouth last time out, a game which ended with Kieran Trippier rowing with frustrated fans.
Playing Chelsea, therefore, probably isn’t what the doctor ordered.
They’ve won five and drawn two of their last eight and their season looks like it’s really turning around.
Spurs were beaten in that run and both Arsenal and Manchester City held, so it’s not as if he fixture list has been kind.
They look a real goal threat with an attack featuring Nicolas Jackson, Raheem Sterling and Cole Palmer and look capable of adding to Newcastle’s woes.

Sheffield United vs Bournemouth: Bournemouth to win (13/10)
It’s back to opposing those promoted sides here with Sheffield United another side to have struggled upon leaving the Championship.
They’ve lost nine of 12 so far and have the worst expected-goals tally and the second worst expected-goals against figure.
Bournemouth have won two of their last three in the league and while they were smashed in the other game, doing so at Manchester City is understandable.
Yes, they need to transfer their improving home form to the road but this looks the ideal fixture in which to try to do that.
Cherries’ striker Dominic Solanke now has seven goals for the season and his presence should worry that shaky home defence.
