Joel Plante commits to the University of Nebraska – Omaha

The Nanaimo Clippers are very pleased to announce that #17 Joel Plante has committed to the University of Nebraska – Omaha. Joel will join the Mavericks for the 2024-2025 season.

This is Joel’s second year as a Nanaimo Clippers having come to us after playing one season with the Surrey Eagles. 

In his first season with the Clippers (2023-2023), Joel scored 9 goals and had 9 assists in 54 games. Already, in 19 games this season, Joel has scored 12 goals and had 6 assists, He has also had his first-ever BCHL hat trick.

The coaching staff remarked that Joel bought into the culture and has climbed the ranks. He is one of the most dynamic skaters in the league, and he is just scratching the surface of his potential.
