My cheap DIY terracotta heater goes up to 165 degrees, it’s great for camping or power emergencies during winter
A SURVIVALIST has shared his tip for enduring power emergencies during winter.
He said his cheap DIY terracotta heater could go up to 165 degrees.
That was enough to stave off the cold and could even be used for camping.
With an ever-rising cost of living, this energy-saving trick might come in handy.
E J Snyder (@ejsnyder333) is the man to know of a simple hack like this.
He has 51,000 followers on his TikTok, where he shares his love and knowledge of “survival and adventure.”
But this heating trick could be timely as the temperatures continue to drop.
In his post, he gave clear instructions and it looked very easy to assemble this portable heater.
“Let’s make a terracotta heater from everything you can see here,” he said.
Assembled in front of him were all the bits and pieces he would need, and there wasn’t very much.
“First take a large clay planter and a small clay planter and put them together,” he said.
He attached the two containers using a nut, bolt, and washers, inserting the smaller pot into the larger pot.
In front of him, he placed three bricks in a fashion to support the clay pot.
Then the clay plate was positioned in the middle between the bricks and onto this he placed a couple of candles.
He lit the candles and then put the pots over the candles, balancing them on the bricks.
“This will heat up to over 165 degrees. You can use this inside your tent or primitive shelter to warm the space.
“Even a 12 x 12 room in an emergency,” he said.
One commenter could vouch for its effectiveness.
“I can say it works well. I didn’t have electricity for a few days last winter,” said this person.
