CHP seizes 1,250 rounds of ammo, three guns in raid of Pittsburg home
PITTSBURG — The California Highway Patrol seized three guns and roughly 1,250 rounds of ammunition during a raid on a home here last month, authorities said.
The investigation started in late October when a CHP officer arrested a man on suspicion of drunk driving and found a revolver in the vehicle. The discovery led to a Nov. 15 raid on the man’s home on the 300 block of Bay Crest Drive in Pittsburg, according to police.
The resident, a former Missouri resident with felony convictions for assault, was not allowed to possess firearms. Police say they found a Mac-10-style assault weapon, two pistols, four magazines and 1,250 rounds of ammunition.
The resident, a 41-year-old man, has not yet been charged in connection with either the raid or the DUI incident, according to court records.
