Hidden.NY’s Asics Gel-NYC Features a Pixelated Logo and Its Signature Shade of Green
December’s sneaker slate may be flush already and growing more so as the holidays draw nearer, but Hidden.NY is putting down its marker on 2024 for its first Asics collaboration.
The archival Instagram account and semi-regular footwear/streetwear/trinket collaborator has been tapped for a take on the Gel-NYC, a model that was just introduced this year but its still very much steeped in retro aesthetics.
Pixelated Tiger Stripes are the defining feature, and anyone familiar with Hidden.NY will recognize its signature shade of green on the branding, which also includes the lowercase “h” logo with outlines pulled directly from PhotoShop, as well as select portions of the midsole. Most of the leather and mesh sneaker appears in white, though, and metallic silver leather even takes up more territory than does green.
The digital theme continues on the shoe box’s interior, which was included in the lone image Hidden.NY used to announce the forthcoming Gel-NYC. But with such a strong cult following, that’s all it’ll to take to start a countdown in consumers’ heads without even a firm end date.
Hidden.NY has previously collaborated with Suicoke, Salomon, and Clarks on a one-time basis each. Perhaps surprisingly, it hasn’t had a single footwear collaboration this year, despite each of the aforementioned releases coming in 2022 alone.
The Hidden.NY x Asics Gel-NYC will release at some point during 2024. We’ll keep you abreast of more release details as they become available.
