Are the Bills the AFC's second-best team? 1 oddsmaker thinks so
It was quite a Sunday for the Buffalo Bills, as they trounced the Dallas Cowboys 31-10, one week after beating the Kansas City Chiefs 20-17. And the Bills were arguably the better team for much of a 37-34 overtime loss to the Eagles in Philadelphia three weeks ago.
At 8-6, Buffalo is still on the outside of the AFC playoff picture looking in, but upcoming games against the Los Angeles Chargers (5-9) and New England Patriots (3-11) give them a good chance to make it.
Just how dangerous is this team? For The Win spoke to Adam Pullen, assistant director of trading at Caesars Sportsbook, on Sunday night who said that he’d have Buffalo as the second-best team in the AFC.
“In my ratings, the Bills are the second-best team in the AFC,” Pullen told For The Win. “They had a really impressive performance today against Dallas and could’ve easily beaten the Eagles. They’ve already crushed the Dolphins and beaten the Chiefs. If they run the table, they’re AFC East champions.”
It’s high praise for Buffalo, to be sure, but also not that difficult to believe when you consider that the Bills very easily could be 10-4 right now, if they hadn’t blown wins against the Denver Broncos and New York Jets earlier this season.
Pullen power-rated the San Francisco 49ers as the NFL’s top team, followed by the Baltimore Raven and the Bills.
Buffalo, whose Super Bowl odds ballooned to 40-1 at one point this season, is now Caesars Sportsbook’s biggest liability to win the Super Bowl.
The Bills need to make the postseason, first — but there’s no question they are the proverbial “team no one wants to play” at the moment.
