I have the best ‘passive aggressive’ hack that gets your guests to clean up after holiday parties, it works 9/10 times
A CLEANING expert has revealed how she gets adults to help her clean up after a dinner party.
She said it will encourage your guests to help clean up after a holiday party 90% of the time.
TikToker Amy L (@bossladycleaninghacks) knows a thing or two about cleaning, but she also has tips for getting others to tidy up.
A fan said: “The day after the holiday is a bigger nightmare, everyone leaves and you are left with the mess to clean up on your own.”
For those who don’t want to be direct, Amy has an indirect solution.
“I actually have a good hack for this,” she said. “Well, it’s more of a passive-aggressive maneuver.”
“It injects just enough awkwardness into the situation to get your guests to help you clean before they leave your home,” she said.
Amy said it’s not common for guests to help the host clean, and she thinks that should change.
You just have to make sure there are kids at the party for her hack to work.
“Make it obvious that you are gathering up all the children and announce that you are going to play a cleanup game,” she said.
“You also have to participate in this and make it look like you are too busy to talk to your guests any longer,” Amy continued.
The cleaning expert said her method is nearly foolproof.
“Nine out of 10 times, this is gonna put enough pressure on them and awkwardness and that they are gonna offer to help,” she said.
While some people thought the trick was genius, others didn’t think it was common to wipe cabinets, as Amy showed in her video.
“Lol you’re a genius,” one person said.
“Crazy as that sounds, it works. I do it all the time. it has yet to fail,” a second wrote.
“Normal cleanup sure but I’m not cleaning the cabinets. Unless something spilled that’s weird,” a third added.
“That won’t work in my family. Instead, the grown-ups will become spectators and cheer their kids on, yelling at them to scrub harder,” a fourth commented.
